Medicaid (Title 19)
Medicaid is a program that pays for medical assistance for certain individuals and families with low incomes and resources. This program became law in 1965 and is jointly funded by the Federal and State governments to assist States in providing medical long-term care assistance (ie. homecare) to people who meet certain eligibility criteria. Medicaid is the largest source of funding for medical and health-related services for people with limited income.

ANS Home Health Services accepts Medicaid as payment for anyone who qualifies for care in the home. If you have low income and or are 65 years old or older or have a disability talk to your doctor to see if you qualify for Title 19 (Medicaid), then let ANS help.

Who Is Eligible for Medicaid? In general, you should apply for Medicaid if your income is low and you match one of the descriptions below:

- You are 65 years old or older and have low income
- You are blind and have low income
- You have a disability and have low income
- You have Medicare coverage and have low income
- You are terminally ill and want to recieve hospice services
- You have a child under 18 years of age that needs care and could stay at home if he or she recieved homecare services

Medicare (Title 18)

CMS is the federal agency, which administers the Medicare Program. Currently, Medicare provides coverage to approximately 40 million Americans. Medicare is the national health insurance program for:

- People age 65 or older
- Some people under age 65 with disabilities
- People with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), which is permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant
